USA Visa Information and Application

Every foreign citizen who wants to enter the United States (USA) must obtain a visa or an ESTA prior to traveling.
There are a number of ways an individual can meet the requirements for travel to the USA:
  • By way of a non-immigrant visa, for people who would like to stay in the USA temporarily.
  • Individuals who would like to stay permanently as a resident in the USA must apply for an immigrant visa.
  • Citizens of a Visa Waiver Country can stay temporarily in the USA, without applying for a visa. Each traveller would need to apply for an ESTA prior to their travel to the USA.

Non-immigrant Visas

Tourists, business travellers, students, or specialty workers who would like to stay for a defined period of time in the United States can apply for a non-immigrant visa. The following steps have to be completed for the visa application:
  • Choose your Visa type
  • Complete the DS-160 Form
  • Pay the fee related to the Visa type you apply for
  • Schedule an appointment with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
  • Visit the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for an interview
  • Receive your USA Visa decision.
